Computer unit

Basic part of CHIP SuperPOS 2000 is computer unit based on Intel processors recent generation and POS keyboard. The special POS keyboard, used in POS systems, regarding standard PC keyboard have advantages in quality (cherry keys), possibility to reconfigure keys by software and ability to adjust key size. POS keyboards can have a special key lock with a number of key states and a magnetic card reader.

Bar code scanner -bar code readers can be sorted in three groups (WAND, CCD and LASER) depending on the type of reading sensor. WAND readers are old, and they are not used any more. CCD (Charge Couple Device) readers work similar to TV cameras. The recorded image is digitized, analyzed and compared so that the standard and number can be recognized. Different CCD readers have similar outlook but big differences in quality and reliability. They are produced with or without decoder and with different types of adapters. Standard CCD bar code reader CCD800E is a good solution for perfectly good printed bar codes. Advantage is a low price and disadvantage is low quality of reading of badly printed bar codes. Laser bar code readers are divided into two groups:

Handy: CCD-800E, LAG-960 and OPL-6845

Handy omni-directional: OPM2000 and Sirius P7030

Fixed for installation on stand: Hunter H-3010, Pollux P-4010, S 1200 Magelan 2200 VS and VS 1100 Magelan 2200 VS

For installation on stand: Castor C-5010, Magelan 2300 HS, HS 1250, and Scanner scale

Cash drawer- Cache drawer is one of the most demanding part of the system and it depends of the type of application (the quantity of the money and the number of the daily transactions). That's the reason why CHIP provides Standard and Heavy Duty cache drawer.

Operator monitor and customer display -Depending of use, you can choose MONO SVGA 9" or KOLOR SVGA 10". Display can be numeric of the new systems.and alpha-numeric. Most use alpha-numeric because it shows letters together with numbers. Two technologies dominate in production of the alpha - numeric displays. One of them is based on backlight LCD technology. The advantage of this system is low price and the disadvantage is low visibility on day light and from the big distances. The other display system is based on VFD (Vacuum Florescent Display) technology. The advantage of this system is that with a little higher price it gives excellent visibility in all conditions. DSP-800 provided by CHIP company is a VFD technology that is a part of a SuperPOS 2000.
